By laying out the bathroom, kitchen, and washer & dryer along the same wall of the accessory dwelling unit, we are able to unlock cost savings from consolidated plumbing that we pass directly to you as the homeowner.

The result is a stunning 1 bedroom space perfect for an in-law unit, granny flat, backyard cottage, or additional rental unit.

We designed the exterior of the unit with a vertical board-and-batten siding to create a charming Cottage feel to enhance the ADU while still matching the craftsman style homes of the Bay Area. In the 468 square feet interior, we were able to fit:

• A full kitchen with full-sized appliances (including a dishwasher!)
• An open living space perfect for entertaining, and
• A spacious and private bedroom large enough for a queen bed and a full closet
• A full bathroom with a full bath,
• A dedicated space for a stackable washer and dryer

Entering the ADU, the space opens up into an open kitchen, dining, and living room space, while skylights in the kitchen/dining space and bathroom allow for ample light to flow naturally into the unit. Full-sized windows throughout the unit provide light and views of the outdoor space surrounding the cottage. We love designing ADUs that connect with the surrounding yard helping the space feel significantly larger than the efficient 468 square feet unit.
